The HR Internship is ideal for a current student looking to gain valuable real-world experience in a fast-paced Sports and Hospitality environment. The HR Intern will assist with all aspects of the talent acquisition process including, but not limited to sourcing, evaluating, screening and interviewing candidates. In addition, the Human Resources Intern will assist with Masters Tournament preparation, onboarding initiatives and other general human resources tasks. In addition to Talent Acquisition, the HR intern will also have exposure to Total Rewards, Learning and Development and the HR Business Partners. This position must maintain the strict confidentiality of all Club business.

Essential Functions of the Job

  • Learn all facets of the HR work cycle, including recruiting, onboarding, learning and development, and HR operations.

  • Support the creation of documents and materials (e.g. reports, presentations and job aids).

  • Develop a knowledge and understanding of processes within the department and throughout the organization.

  • Provide general administrative support as needed.

  • Schedule and conduct initial phone screens with potential candidates.

  • Participate in virtual and in-person interviews.

  • When appropriate, escort applicants and guests to various on-site and off-site Augusta National Golf Club areas.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support various HR initiatives.

Physical Demands

  • Acceptable level of hearing and vision to perform job duties including but not limited to preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading.

  • Occasionally required to walk and work with hands and arms, lift up to 25 pounds and/or drive a golf cart.

  • Constantly required to sit, sometimes for several hours at a time, and use their hands and fingers to operate a computer.

Qualifications:

      Skills/Knowledge/Attributes:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Publisher, Excel, Word and Power Point

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Planning, prioritizing and time management skills to meet deadlines while working with multiple projects

  • Efficient organizational skills

  • Creative, resourceful and diligent in working with repetitious job tasks

  • High attention for details

Relative Experience/Education:

  • Basic knowledge of Human Resources practices and principles is preferred 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Participation in a Bachelors program, preferably in Human Resources, Business, or related field

Required License(s):

  • Possess a valid driver’s license and/or successfully completes the Club’s internal motor vehicle training program

Projected Work Schedule:

Normal work hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
