Job Summary: 
  
The Program Manager oversees the development and operations of the SCGA Junior Golf Club, managing club membership, the Youth on Course program, and the tournament series. They are also responsible for the Salesforce CRM and associated vendor relationships, ensuring seamless integration and functionality across programs. Additionally, they collaborate closely with the Player and Youth Development program to support its operations and growth. 
  
In this role, the Program Manager will lead and supervise a small team, coordinating and supporting tournaments, outings, and events across the organization. They will partner with various stakeholders, including the National Youth on Course team, and work closely with golf facilities and other organizations to enhance program effectiveness and foster valuable partnerships. As a key ambassador for the SCGA and SCGA Junior Golf Foundation, the Program Manager will represent the organization to members, constituents, and the broader community. 
  
The ideal candidate is expected to work a full-time, flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, and be available to work at various locations, including the Junior Golf Foundation office. Strong leadership, team development skills, and effective communication and partnership-building abilities are es
essential for success in this role. 
  
The minimum salary for this position is $67,000, commensurate with experience, and includes a comprehensive company benefits package. 
 
Key Responsibilities: 

Youth on Course Program Management 
  • Oversee all SCGA Junior Youth on Course program aspects, including membership administration, credential distribution, participant tracking, and customer service.   
  • Monitor program growth and conduct monthly and quarterly reporting and analysis.   
  • Manage customer service efforts across the team with assistance from interns.   
  • Maintain a strong relationship with Youth on Course, collaborating with the Executive Director on board reports and task forces related to the program. 
 
Partnerships and Community Engagement 
  • Work with high schools and CIF sections to promote and facilitate Club membership sign-ups.   
  • Manage partnerships with junior golf programs throughout Southern California, identifying opportunities for growth and managing membership and invoicing for partner programs. 
 
Staff Management and Development 
  • Recruit, hire, and develop multiple program staff members, managing their daily duties and overall performance.   
  • Oversee the tournament series and other JGF golf activities, including managing the Program Coordinator and providing on-site support and management as needed. 
 
Data and Technology Management 
  • Oversee data reporting for Player and Youth Development sites, Youth on Course, and Club reporting, ensuring data integrity and accuracy across the organization.   
  • Manage Salesforce vendors to support day-to-day activities and processes, providing team support.   
  • Implement changes to daily and monthly processes to improve organizational efficiency.   
  • Continue implementing software and registration vendor services, including registration pages and eStores.   
  • Train staff in Salesforce and other relevant technologies, developing training materials and conducting one-on-one and group sessions.   
  • Manage user access in these systems, including activating and deactivating users as needed. 
 
Operations and Support   
  • Support Player & Youth Development operations, including membership and registration.   
  • Assist with development activities, including special events and fundraising initiatives.   
  • Contribute to the creation of communication and marketing materials, such as junior newsletters, web stories, social media content, and collateral materials.   
  • Provide additional support to staff across other programs, including on-site instruction, volunteer management, and new program initiatives. 
 
Additional Responsibilities 

  • Perform other tasks and duties relevant to the role and organizational needs as assigned. 
 
Essential Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field of study and/or combination of acceptable education and relative work experience 
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in golf tournament administration is preferred.  
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience managing full- and part-time employees is preferred.   
  • Demonstrated record of handling multiple projects successfully. 
  • Demonstrated experience in managing data and processes in a CRM system (Salesforce preferred).  
  • Experience with Salesforce development is preferred (Salesforce Apex, Javascript, SQL, SOQL). 
  • Ability to deal effectively with human resource and personnel issues; can deal constructively with conflict and conflict resolution; can motivate, provide counsel, and execute applicable solutions in a collaborative environment. 
  • Customer service approach with excellent communication and interpersonal skills; outgoing and comfortable in administering group presentation and discussions.  
  • Strategic thinker; able to assess and evaluate program deficiencies and create strategies for improvement. 
  • Passion for junior golf and youth development and capable of managing a team that can successfully execute designated junior golf programs. 
  • Proficient use of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) as well as CRM or Business Intelligence (BI) software (Salesforce, Hubspot, Power BI) and ease in learning and effectively using other designated software programs specific to the operation; able to effectively teach others as necessary. 
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time, to include bending/stooping; able to lift and move up to 25 lbs., and occasionally lift and move up to 50 lbs. with minimal assistance. 
  • Able to work outdoors for extended periods of time and in various elements of weather. 
  • Flexible schedule; must be available to work evenings and weekends as required.
