TPC Sawgrass, located in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, is the birthplace of the TPC Network and the backdrop to PGA TOUR headquarters. Just three years after unveiling its 187,000-square-foot Global Home in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, the PGA TOUR is set to integrate the latest cutting-edge media production technologies at PGA TOUR Studios, a three-level facility adjacent to the Global Home. The futuristic 165,000-square-foot media facility — home to the largest golf footage library in the world — will house all PGA TOUR Media operations, including live production for PGA TOUR LIVE, PGA TOUR Champions and Korn Ferry Tour, as well as the social media, digital operations and international media.

The Barista is located in the Studios Cafe and is responsible for serving gourmet coffee and other products with friendly, individualized attention towards each guest. Create a unique and authentic experience for our guests by providing prompt service, quality beverages, and maintaining a clean and comfortable environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage service operational procedures as would normally be acquired through at least 6 months previous similar experience.
  • Must have excellent customer service and communication skills. 
  • Flexible work schedule.
  • A qualified applicant is a “people person” who is flexible with their schedule, loves to serve others, and knows how to multi-task while ensuring accuracy.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

  • Make and serve beverages as requested in a professional, courteous and timely manner following TPC standards. Use the guest’s name during service.
  • Deliver distinctively different and authentic experiences to all guests; act with a customer-comes-first attitude.
  • Educate customers on menu items and answer any questions they may have.
  • Recommend new menu items and communicate customer feedback to managers.
  • Contribute to positive team environment by recognizing issues, proactively working to resolve them, and communicating them to managers.
  • Advise supervisor of any member/guest complaints so they can be immediately and professionally resolved.
  • Use basic math skills to handle cash and credit transactions.
  • Receive and process cash and credit card payments.
  • Serve prepared food, i.e., cookies, pastries, sandwiches and muffins.
  • Prepare and serve beverages according to recipes.
  • Brew drip coffee as needed.
  • Fill the drinking water container, mason cup tray, and buffet items.
  • Ensure the bar area and equipment are clean at all times.
  • Maintain an empty dirty dish bin. 
  • Wash and put away dishes in the kitchen.
  • Maintain stock of syrups, bar fridge, pastries, bagged coffee and merchandise.
  • Maintain stock of clean mugs and plates.
  • Complete tasks on shift checklist, initial completed tasks, work ahead to ensure completion prior to shift end, and remain until it is completed. 
  • Maintain a clean dining area, sanitizing tables and chairs, and sweeping crumbs off the floor.
  • Operate within established guidelines, policies, standards and constraints as set by PGA TOUR Golf Course Properties, Inc.
  • Ensure that service procedures are adhered to as outlined in the TPC Brand Standards.
  • Understand and follow procedures to maintain proper sanitation, conforming to all jurisdictional and club imposed regulations and rules regarding food service sanitation.
  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.
  • Special projects or other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; kneel; use hands to handle or feel; and talk or hear.  The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, color vision, distance and peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

An essential function of the job is to be able to comply with all applicable federal, state and local safety and health regulations that would apply to this job.
