The Role

Full time hourly position with benefits package designed to fulfill the needs of the campus program teaching demands. The Full Time Tennis Teaching Professional will:
  • Plan, organize and implement high quality lessons, clinics, camps, related to the performance program.
  • Developing and implementing short and long-term developmental plans for performance players.
  • Work with the Director of Racquet Sports and Head Professionals to identify areas of growth, options for increased revenue, or issues that need resolution.
  • Serve as the model of delivery for performance players and coaches both on and off court.
  • Lead multiple courts and coaches during performance sessions.
  • Deliver group practices, private lessons, and assist with any programs, events, or intern training as needed.
  • Assist with promotion of performance programs.
  • Assist with tournament travel of performance players.
  • Accountable for meeting the needs of each player’s development plan.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director.
Who You Are
 
  • Available to work a 5-day, full schedule year-round, including weekends
  • PTR/USPTA Certified Preferred (or willing to become and maintain PTR/USPTA certification)
  • Strong playing skills, being able to provide hitting sessions for UTR 10+ players.
  • Organized, highly motivated, prompt, entrepreneurial and enthusiastic
  • Proficient computer skills and willingness to use IT
  • A customer focused attitude, and a passion for working with people
  • Willing to align with the USTA National Campus Teaching Philosophy
  • Ability to attract clients and build a teaching portfolio with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attend professional development trainings & meetings
  • Willing to receive CPR, AED certifications and undergo a background check
  • Able to start something new, grow an existing program, manage other coaches, train and develop other coaches 
  • Ability to serve as a USTA-U intern mentor
 
Junior and Adult Teaching:
 
  • Prior experience in R-O-G-Y tennis methodology preferred
  • Ability to work in a variety of settings such as summer camp, instructional clinics and with children of all ages
  • Prior experience in developing performance players
  • Ability to run dynamic drop-in tennis sessions with up to 8 players
  • Knowledge of running tournaments and member events a plus
  • This position is designated as "on-site" and requires the employee to be at the office site to complete the required tasks associated with the position.

The expected salary for this position is $40-$50 hourly rate. This rate does not include any additional pay or benefits for which a person may qualify.  The actual base salary offered is determined by several variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, the years of relevant experience, and unique skills
