Position Title: Part-Time On-Ice Game Day Experience Staff

Location: BMO Center, Rockford, IL

Hours: This role is part-time and will not average more than 20-24 hours per week

Do you love to skate? Join the Rockford IceHogs team and help keep the rink game-ready for the remainder of the 2024-25 hockey season. This is a game day position that performs general ice maintenance during media timeouts and assists in creating memorable experiences for IceHogs fans. *This role requires strong skating abilities.

How You'll Contribute:

  • As part of the game day experience crew, you will help to create a smooth experience for players and fans – both on and off the ice. Opportunities to support special events outside of game nights may also be available. 
  • Assigned tasks may include but are not limited to: 
  • Pre-Game:
  • Assist Zamboni Drivers in ice maintenance/game set up (tools, shovels, nets, goal holes, etc.)
  • Assist IceHogs production/youth hockey/marketing departments with their set-ups (carpets, equipment, etc.)
  • In-Game:
  • Shovel the ice during media timeouts
  • Assist Zamboni drivers with intermission ice maintenance (move nets, clean goal holes, patch ice, etc.)
  • Assist BMO staff for any rink issues (broken glass, dasher boards, netting, etc.)
  • Assist IceHogs production/youth hockey/marketing departments with their set- ups (carpets, equipment, etc.)
  • Post-Game:
  • Assist Zamboni Drivers in putting away/cleaning up ice maintenance/game set-up (tools, shovels, nets, goals holes, rubber matting, etc.
  • Fan Experience: 
  • Greet IceHogs fans, answer questions, and contribute to a positive game day experience 
  • Assist other departments with game-day initiatives as and any other duties as assigned

Player Stats and Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to commit to the entire Rockford IceHogs 2024-25 season – working all remaining regular-season home games and playoff games. Availability for game days is a must.   • Strong skating abilities required*
  • Should be passionate about customer service, display an outgoing and positive attitude, and be comfortable interacting with fans in large, crowded, arena environments. 
  • Should have excellent teamwork skills, effective communication skills and exhibit a willingness to help your co-workers succeed
  • Should exhibit a genuine enthusiasm for community involvement within the sports industry
  • Professionally represent the IceHogs brand while on duty

The Rockford IceHogs, founded in 1999 and members of the American Hockey League (AHL), is a premier organization and primary development affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks. Located in Rockford, IL, the Team calls the newly renovated BMO Center its home.  

As the longest running professional sports team in Rockford, the organization has developed a passionate local fan base and has set multiple attendance records over the years, while establishing a strong a community presence.
