The Iowa Heartlanders professional hockey team is looking to add an Equipment Intern to our team for the 2024-25 season. This is a part-time position with hours that will fluctuate week to week based on number of games and whether the team is at home or on the road.
Duties/Responsibilities:
1) Perform duties assigned by the Head Equipment Manager including, but not limited to:
- Laundry
- Vacuum and mop the locker room area
- Inventory equipment
- Assist with visiting team needs on game days
2) Assist in the set-up of team bench areas for practices and games.
3) Keep home and away locker rooms presentable to team and league standards
4) Assist the Head Equipment Manager with equipment repair, as necessary
Requirements:
- Approximately 15 hours per week (fewer if team is on the road)
- Work in person at all 36 home games
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn is required
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior hockey experience/knowledge is preferred, but not required
- Preference will be given to students who are eligible for class credit
