Location: Coralville, IA

Job Title: Merchandise Intern

Role Summary:
The Merchandise Intern will assist the Manager of Merchandise with various aspects of event operations. This role involves supporting customer service, promotional activities, e-commerce tasks, and inventory management.  The intern will gain hands-on experience in brand and retail management within the sports industry, while contributing to front office gameday operations.

Reports to: Manager of Merchandise

Key Responsibilities:
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent service by assisting customers with their merchandise inquiries and transactions. 
  • Point-Of-Sale: Assist with register operations and ensure accurate transactions.
  • Store Operations: Help with organizing and maintaining the retail floor, including setting up displays and ensuring the store is clean and visually appealing.
  • E-commerce Support: Assist with online inventory, including updating product listings, processing orders, and handling customer inquiries related to online purchases.
  • Inventory Management: Support inventory counts and help track stock levels to ensure adequate supply for both in-store and online sales.
  • Sales Tracking: Aid in monitoring sales trends.
  • Procedures: Support and collaborate on opening/closing responsibilities.
 
 Qualifications and Experience:
  • Pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, Retail Management, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of retail operations and customer service.
  • Familiarity with computer software (Microsoft Office Suite, Square software, basic knowledge of E-commerce platforms is a plus).
  • Previous experience in retail or customer service is preferred.

 Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position and operate a computer.
  • Capable of lifting, pulling, and carrying boxes up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent movement around store and inventory spaces.
 
 Additional Information:
  •  This internship offers practical experience in merchandise management, ideal for students or recent graduates interested in careers in retail, sales, and brand management.
  • The intern will be evaluated based on performance goals and contributions to the team.
  • The role may involve additional tasks as needed, and responsibilities may be adjusted based on the needs of Heartlanders Hockey, LLC.

Compensation: $10.00 per hour
