Summary:
The Iowa Heartlanders Marketing department is seeking enthusiastic interns interested in gaining hands-on experience with a minor league hockey program. You will be paid $50 a game day, with unpaid office hours. We require 4 hours a week for office hours. This position will provide interested candidates with the opportunity to learn more about social media, graphic design, and/or videography. These highly motivated individuals will be key contributors in capturing content, continuing the growth of the Heartlanders brand digitally, and creating engaging content for Heartlander fans.
Responsibilities:
- Communications:
- Writing featured stories, game notes, game recaps, and website content
- Media relations and broadcast opportunities for interested candidates
- Social Media:
- Gathering, posting, and sharing content
- Assist with photography
- Implement and execute social media calendars
- Create fun and engaging ways to generate content
- Attend assigned games and practices
- Graphic Design
- Creating and editing graphics
- Videography
- Capturing and editing video
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Flexible schedule (shifts include nights, weekends, holidays) **Must work all home games**
- Work effectively within a fast-paced team environment
- Stand/walk for an extended period of time
- Think creatively and have fun in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge and experience using Photoshop and Illustrator (Graphic Design)
- Knowledge and experience with Premiere (Videography)
- Knowledge and experience with photography and editing (Lightroom)
