The Retail Merchandise Lead is responsible for leading a team of retail associates to ensure that the sales floor meets visual and merchandising standards while efficiently utilizing the POS system. This role requires a strong understanding of visual merchandising, inventory management, and team leadership. The Retail Merchandise Lead will work closely with store management to execute merchandising strategies that drive sales and enhance the customer experience.

 

TEAM LEADERSHIP: 

·       Lead and mentor a team of retail associates, providing guidance on visual standards, merchandising techniques, customer engagement and efficient, accurate use of the POS system.

·       Train new team members on merchandising best practices and company policies.

 

MERCHANDISE EXECUTION:

·       Assist in development of and implement merchandising plans that align with store promotions, product launches, and seasonal trends.

·       Ensure that all displays are visually appealing, well-organized, and stocked with current products.

·       Monitor and maintain visual standards throughout the store, including signage, fixtures, and product placement.

·       Conduct regular floor walks to assess merchandising quality and make necessary adjustments.

INVENTORY MANAGEMENT: 

·       Collaborate with the management team to ensure product is constantly restocked.

·        Assist in managing stock levels, including monitoring slow-moving items and making recommendations for markdowns or promotions.

·       Communicate low or out of stock items to management 

·        Support inventory accuracy by conducting regular counts and audits as requested

 

CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT:

·       Engage with customers to provide product knowledge and assistance, enhancing their shopping experience.

·       Gather customer feedback on product displays and work with the management team to make improvements.

SALES SUPPORT:

·       Engage the sales team to develop and implement strategies that drive sales growth.

·       Assist in planning and executing store events, promotions, and product launches.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

·      Previous experience in retail merchandising, visual merchandising, or a related field.

·      Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and manage a team.

·      Proficiency in using POS systems and inventory management software.  Shopify a plus.

·      Excellent organizational and time management skills.

·      Attention to detail with a strong sense of aesthetics and design.

·      Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

·      Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

·      Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and during peak retail periods.

·      Ability to stand for long periods of a time

·      Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
