The Worcester Railers HC of the ECHL is looking for multiple FOR CREDIT ONLY Youth and Amateur Hockey Operations interns in the 2024-25 Academic Year starting in September and ending in December or continuing throughout the season. Candidates must be current college students and must be able to dedicate 15+ hours a week to the internship. Strong verbal skills are essential, as is the ability to work well in a dynamic, small-office environment. The successful candidate should be dependable, able to handle multiple tasks, and work long hours (evenings, weekends & holidays included).

 Game Operations & Office:
  • Applicants are required to make 90% of home games. (Applicants that can’t make 90% of games will still be considered.)
  • Those seeking a season-long internship will be given preference.
  • Interns should be motivated to represent the Worcester Railers brand at all times.
  • Interns may work office hours during the week and gain additional experience. 
  • Interns may have the opportunity to volunteer at several community events at their convenience.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Those in pursuit of Sports Management, Marketing, Public/Community Relations, athletic administration or coaching degrees preferred.
  • Computer proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication skills and telephone etiquette.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle a variety of projects.
  • Basic knowledge of ice hockey is strongly encouraged. 
  • Assist and support in all aspects of the Worcester Railers “pregame hockey” programming from set up to when teams leave. 
  • Refereeing experience preferred.
  • Network with local amateur hockey coaches, managers, and group leaders

Requirements:
  • Must receive college credit.
  • Available to work a minimum of 15+ hours a week, including nights and weekends.
  • Available to work 90% of home games during the season.
  • Must have reliable transportation and live in Worcester or surrounding areas. 
  • Required to lift 25 pounds and perform some manual labor.
