Coordinator, In-Game Social Media (Seasonal)

SUMMARY:
As Coordinator, In-Game Social Media, this person will help drive conversation across social media during NHL game action by posting the best highlights/photos/GIFs/etc., sparking conversation through keen observation and building content through real-time storylines. 
 
This person will act as a primary publisher to the NHL’s social channels and engage fans with sharp & creative copywriting.  You’ll also play a vital role in the creation and production of content to be distributed across our platforms. 
 
The individual we’re seeking should be self-motivated and enthusiastic, with the unique ability to manage & prioritize a high volume of projects & tasks simultaneously. They must possess outstanding writing skills and have excellent attention to detail. The right candidate will have extensive experience as a copywriter, working knowledge of photo and video editing tools, and expertise on all things NHL. 
 
Nights, weekends & holidays required based around NHL game schedule.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Write creative copy and publish content to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok and more.
  • Ensure that all copy and published assets are grammatically correct and factually accurate
  • Drive conversation across social platforms by engaging with fans, teams, players, partners & more
  • Co-develop the NHL’s social persona and voice that fans come to associate with the League
  • Work closely with supervisor and greater social media team in the planning and development of social content 
  • Collaborate regularly with internal and external stakeholders including the NHL.com editorial team, NHL PR, NHL clubs, broadcast partners and more on distribution strategy
  • Apply data and insights into publishing strategy and content development

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Two years’ experience in social media and/or content creation, preferably for a sports brand
  • Outstanding writing skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Organized with the ability to constantly reprioritize tasks
  • Great written and verbal communication skills.
  • Passion for hockey and extensive knowledge of the NHL, its teams, players, history, rules, etc.
  • Deep understanding of the ever-evolving social landscape
  • Applies an entrepreneurial approach to their work
  • Experience with Photoshop and Premiere a big plus
  • Possesses a positive and upbeat attitude towards their job
