The Ice Operations Crew is responsible for maintaining the ice surface during games, which includes clearing debris during media time-outs and assisting with on-ice promotions. Team members must be experienced skaters knowledgeable about hockey, interested in ice maintenance, and comfortable in front of large crowds in a professional NHL environment.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Assist Wells Fargo Arena staff with ice maintenance, including snow removal and ice build-up during all media timeouts.
  • Assist in the preparation and execution of on-ice promotional activities/games during intermissions.
  • Bring the ENERGY, EXCITEMENT, and FUN, as you interact with fans as ambassadors to the Iowa Wild and Wells Fargo Arena.
  • Available to work 90% of Iowa Wild home games during the 2024-25 AHL season.
  • Provide excellent customer service to guests in the arena.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

Formal Education & Certification

  • Some post-secondary education is preferred, not required.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Ability to skate at a proficient level.
  • Previous experience working on ice rink is preferred, not required.

Personal Attributes

  • Fan-friendly attitude and willingness to help.
  • Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Work Conditions

  • Flexible schedule, with the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays for home games.
  • Ability to stand/skate up to 5 hours at a time.
  • Physical requirements include sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, lifting, grasping, etc.
    Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
