The Marketing Manager, Promotions and Events for the Iowa Wild Hockey Club, AHL Affiliate of the NHL’s Minnesota Wild will assist the Director, Marketing, Community Programs and Events with overall brand development and strategy. This role will manage all events run executed by the Iowa Wild, including work done by the Community Relations team, and will be responsible for overseeing theme nights and promotions throughout the season. The Marketing Manager, Promotions and Events will also focus efforts to drive revenue growth through marketing strategies, promotional planning, and customer service tactics.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Assist the Director, Marketing, Community Programs and Events to establish the annual event calendar and promotional schedule.
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of events, from conception to post-event analysis, demonstrating a hands-on approach to ensure seamless execution and success.
  • Responsible for managing team Community Relations efforts, including oversight of a Community Relations Coordinator/Mascot.
  • Manage a promotion and events budget and build, implement, and manage all special events or theme nights established by the organization.
  • Collaborate closely with the sales team to understand their goals and objectives, ensuring that Wild 365 events are properly executed.
  • Support the partnership team with activation ideas that meet the needs of our sponsors and our Iowa Wild brand, and help execute activations when necessary.
  • Work closely with our Manager, Game Presentation to create the best in game experience while also hiring and managing game day staff.
  • Work with the Marketing Communications Coordinator and the Digital Media Manager on all aspects of customer communications and event communication strategies.
  • Efficiently and effectively communicate in high pressure environment with other departments, vendors and guests.
  • Align with the Marketing Department to ensure consistent communications on internal and external projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

Formal Education & Certification

  • 4-year college degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Event Management, or Public Relations required.

Knowledge & Experience

  • 2+ years in experience in event planning, sports or live events a plus.
  • Game presentation experience a plus, but not required.
  • Must be able to work all Iowa Wild home games and special events.
  • Computer and program skills include, Microsoft Office, Adobe Suites.
  • Knowledge special event planning and marketing strategies, e-marketing strategies.

Work Conditions

  • Ability to work traditional business hours in addition to nights, weekends, and holidays as needed for games and events.
  • Work is primarily sedentary in nature. Physical requirements include sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, lifting, grasping, etc.
  • Extended working hours periodically required as directed by business needs.
  • Reliable transportation to transport event set up and materials is required.
