Position Summary:

The Porter/Cleaning team member will support the Kraken Community Iceplex by ensuring a clean and safe environment for both guests and staff and is a key component to the overall guest experience. This role would be required 1-2 weekends per month and additional holiday specialty weekends (MLK, Thanksgiving, etc).

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support Kraken Community Iceplex as the premier training facility in the NHL.
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness of ice rinks, locker rooms, restrooms, and common areas.
  • Empty trash bins, sweep, mop, and vacuum floors as needed.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies.
  • Assist in setting up and tearing down for events and activities.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient cleaning operations.
  • Report unsafe and/or potentially hazardous ice/facility conditions.
  • Participate in required training and staff meetings.
  • Professionally and accurately execute facility policies and procedures.
  • Weekend shifts (Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays) are required.

 

Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in cleaning or janitorial roles preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A high degree of personal integrity and consistently put the interests of the organization first.
  • Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting and moving equipment.
  • Passion for hospitality and customer service.
  • Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

 

 

Total Rewards Package:

  • Compensation:
    • In accordance with Washington’s Equal Pay and Opportunity Act, the expected wage for this position is $19.97/hr. Actual base pay will depend on employee’s experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.

Working Conditions:

  • Minimal Travel (<10% travel): May be required to travel. Trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay away from home for one or more nights.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekends, nights and holidays required
  • Frequent bending, lifting 15-20 pounds, sitting, exposure to multiple external elements, extensive walking through the building including inclines and stairs.
