Position Overview: The Macon Mayhem are seeking Creative Content Interns for the 2024-2025 season. The Mayhem offer a unique internship program to students who want to enter the world of professional sports. We are looking for strong and independent workers that can handle a wide variety of tasks.
Timeline and Hours:
October 2024 – April 2025
Attendance at all Mayhem Home Games (Office Hours Available)
Volunteer Internship but Can be used for Course Credit
Responsibilities:
- Assist with managing official Mayhem social media accounts: Facebook, X, Instagram and YouTube
- Help with idea generation, content development, planning and scheduling for all social media platforms
- Provide social media coverage at events throughout the internship
- Evaluate and interpret performance analytics for the purposes of designing fan/follower growth strategies and engagement level improvements
- Help with team photo and video requests including shooting, editing, organizing and posting to social media
- Capturing audio and video on game days and assist with video production
- Other tasks, projects and responsibilities as assigned
Learning Objectives:
- Gain hands-on experience in content creation and digital marketing.
- Develop skills in photo and video production, including editing and graphic design.
- Learn how to effectively manage social media platforms and engage with audiences.
- Understand the workflow and collaboration required in a professional marketing team.
- Enhance your creativity and technical skills using industry-standard tools like the Adobe Suite.
Qualifications:
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills required
- Organized with ability to prioritize time sensitive assignments
- Basic understanding of Adobe Creative Cloud Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere Pro preferred
- Personal professional camera preferred, but not required
- Preferred background in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or other related disciplines
