Date: Early September 2024 through end of 2024-2025 season (as late as May 2025)

The Ideal Candidate:  
The successful candidates will play a huge role in overseeing the fan experience by creating a welcoming and enjoyable experience for guests at all Steel home games. The primary responsibility is to assist and guide guests, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the event. 

The Top Shelf:
This role is responsible for creating a positive experience for all fans at Chicago Steel home games. We are seeking individuals who foster a positive and welcoming atmosphere and focus on providing the highest level of customer service for our fans at all home games. Ushers play a crucial role in ensuring a positive and memorable experience for guests at events.

How You’ll Contribute:
  • Treat our fans and guests with courtesy and respect and assist them throughout the game to ensure their visit is safe, clean fun, and family-friendly
  • Verify tickets and direct guests to their seats or designated areas, ensuring smooth entry and efficient seating
  • Distribute promotional items to fans and guests as required
  • Guide guests to ticketed seats, suites, and special areas within arena
  • Enforce venue policies and regulations, such as no-smoking areas or prohibited items, to maintain a comfortable and secure atmosphere
  • Thank all guests for attending as they are leaving
  • Ability to stay calm and assists guests in case of emergency; medical situation, evacuation, etc. 
  • Impacting the overall fan experience in the most positive way
Player Stats and Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • The ability to attend a vast majority of Steel home games during the 2024-2025 season. This will include nights, weekends, and holidays. 
  • Positive and energetic individual that is organized, driven, and willing to contribute to the success of the team
  • Strong social and communication skills
  • Ability to work productively and collaboratively
  • Ability to be on feet for 3+ hours at a time
The Team:
The Chicago Steel, members of the United States Hockey League (USHL), are celebrating their 25th season and are one of the most decorated junior hockey teams in the world in recent years.

Since 2015, the Steel are the winningest franchise in the USHL and during that time, the Steel have won two Clark Cup Championships (2017 and 2021), two Anderson Cup Championships (regular season titles), and three conference championships. Since the inaugural 2000-2001 season, 360 Chicago Steel players have played Division I hockey, and 59 Steel alumni have been selected in the NHL draft, including seven first-round selections.

Off the ice, the Steel boasts a vibrant, aspirational staff dedicated to continued attendance growth built on providing an outstanding fan experience.
