Role Responsibilities
The Membership Services Manager is a role that engages with all departments of the Drum Corps International staff and the participating ensembles’ leadership and administration in development of the service arm of DCI. 
 
This position will work with: Corps Housing Department, Participant Safety Department, Ensemble/Membership Administration and Compliance (World Class, Open Class, All-Age, SoundSport, DrumLine Battle), Music Licensing and Educational initiatives (BANDtastic!, INpact Band).
 
This position reports directly to the Senior Director of Ensemble Services.
 
Areas of responsibility include:
  • Manage compliance oversight of all participating ensembles and DCI teams to all by-laws and policies.
This includes working with DCI communication platforms updating and tracking all information and documentation to/from ensembles.
  • Work with team to help develop educational/training materials, for ensembles and DCI staff regarding safety, organization development, risk mitigation (to persons and organizations), and ensemble tour management.
  • Work with Membership and Ensemble Services Admin Team to annually reviewing ensemble organizational performance to find/train best practices for increasing efficiencies.
  • Work with DCI Housing Team to create housing leads and professional services to meet the needs of the ensembles and tour event partners.
  • Work with Participant Safety Team in migrating the activity to a new member-based platform. Actively assist members in understanding and use of the new system.
  • Work with Ensemble Services Team to develop educational events and programs, including camps and clinics, to drive incremental revenue.
  • Assist with DCI and corps’ music licensing and compliance as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 Required Skills/Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in not-for-profit, Arts Administration or Equivalent, or suitable skills background to match need.
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in the Drum Corps activity.
  • Understanding of financial management, budgeting, risk mitigation and personal & event safety a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and organize projects with acute attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to and understanding of issues requiring confidentiality.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams.

  • Experience with Salesforce is a plus.
