Position Overview 
The Community Outreach & Impact Assistant will assist with community outreach and impact initiatives for Indiana Sports Corp 2025 winter/spring events and the 2026 NCAA Men’s Final Four. This position will develop and execute activations engaging fans of all ages throughout the state of Indiana to drive civic pride for sporting events and initiatives.  This position is a full-time non-exempt position with an end date of April 30, 2026.
General Responsibilities (includes but not limited to): 
  • Develops promotional calendar with NCAA and ISC partners to engage audiences through the Final Four Fan Jam.
  • Supervises a team of interns and volunteers to execute each promotional appearance including set up, on-site production, execution, and tear down.
  • Implements event tracking system to include pre-event information and post-event download process.
  • Pursues new promotional opportunities, builds rapport, and maintains positive relationships with NCAA and ISC partners and sponsors.
  • Partners with Communications Coordinator to capture content onsite at appearances and deliver engaging social media content to all necessary platforms run by NCAA and ISC.
  • Collaborates with NCAA and ISC marketing teams on strategies to further grow audiences through email acquisition and contesting.
  •  Assists the Community Outreach & Impact coordinator with impact projects for various hosted events. 
  • Tracks event finances including purchase of supplies, management of mileage and event fees 
  • Regularly attends weekly Marketing meetings and bi-weekly Operations meetings.
  • Participates on Local Organizing Committee to ensure proper and timely completion of responsibilities.
  • Participates in warehouse logistics and management.
  • Assist with other NCAA and ISC projects as requested.
Qualifications 
  • Bachelor’s degree in event planning, sports management/engagement, marketing, or other related work 
  • 0-2 years prior experience (can be a combination of internships, volunteer, and part-time/full-time work) in event planning and execution, marketing, communications, social media management.  
Required Skills 
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) 
  • Experience managing multiple social media platforms
  • Comfortability in presenting to large and small groups of people 
  • Exceptional time management skills, multi-tasking abilities, team player 
  • Experience working with volunteers and/or managing and motivating people 
  • Budget management and negotiation skills 
  • Ability to accomplish projects independently and within a team 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a high level of professionalism 
  • Fantastic customer service, ethics, and high expectations for quality 
  • Computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Salesforce (can be trained)
