Position Summary

The Mile High City Hype Squad (promotional team) position focuses on the game night activities of the Denver Nuggets Game Presentation Department, assisting with in-game promotional activities and entertainment, team-related special events, as well as all pregame preparations. Activities include rolling and tossing t-shirts, starting cheers in the crowd, moving promotional items on-and-off the court, assisting SuperMascot Rocky, and other duties as assigned. On game days, the promotional team will need to arrive at least two hours prior to the start of each game and work through the completion of the game and tear down.

 

This is a seasonal part-time position with employment concluding at the end of the 2024 -2025 Denver Nuggets season.

 

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

Game nights may require prolonged standing, bending, stooping, stretching, lifting, throwing, etc.  Occasionally lifting of sponsorship items weighing up to 50 pounds.   Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity enough to get around the arena, up and down stairs, and perform manual labor.  Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record and communicate appropriately with team.

 

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Fan engagement/interaction as a Nuggets brand ambassador
  • Working closely with the stage manager to prepare and execute all game night promotional and entertainment activities
  • Set up and tear down of all equipment
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects to different locations
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to work 90% of Nuggets home games for the 2024-2025 season.

 

Performance Requirements/Skills

  • Interest in sports special events, promotions, or entertainment.
  • Willingness to take direction from several supervisors.
  • Comfortable working in front of large crowds.
  • Must be personable, enthusiastic, and very outgoing.
  • Desire to work in a professional sports environment.
  • Desire to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks at the same time.
  • Passion for Mile High Basketball
  • Tumbling/cheerleading skills are a plus but not required

 

Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required 
  • Over 18 years of age by August 1, 2024

 

Compensation

  • 18.29/hr
