THE ROLE

The Director of Partnership Strategy is responsible for directing the strategy, innovation and creative development team that will help drive current and new business partnerships. The individual will work collaboratively with the sales team and connect directly with key decision-makers on a regular basis to help secure large scale multi-year global and national marketing and digital media partnerships with brands wishing to maximize their relationships with high profile entertainment platforms.

Tasked with supporting revenue generation and helping to manage the clients on a day-to-day basis, the role will continue to grow in scope and include additional opportunities to help grow the business. This role will report to the VP, Partnership Strategy.

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Create process and implement new strategy initiatives for the partnerships team.
  • Manage a team of associates.
  • Maintain and evolve partnership asset inventory, guidelines, sales strategies across all mediums (i.e., physical, digital, experiential, custom brand integration, etc.)
  • Manage the creation and development of customized, cross-platform partnership programs that fit measurable brand initiatives to ensure they align with the client’s strategies and expectations.
  • Lead communication and collaboration efforts with internal and external parties/resources to develop and streamline sales processes that leverage current and emerging opportunities to help drive further value for clients and prospects (i.e., marketing, analysts, finance team, technology leadership, event operations, hospitality, third-party agencies, etc.)
  • Serve as a representative to expert team on industry best practices and emerging categories and trends, seamlessly integrating learnings into the sales process.
  • Oversee the strategy, analytics, innovation and development staff in research, collateral/proposal development, and legal requirements through all steps in the sales process.
  • Ability to quickly earn and maintain trust.
  • Ability to develop strong peer-level relationships and work in a team environment and contribute to the general success of Legends across all facets, including positively representing Legends among all potential and existing clients.
  • Manage representation at industry-related events or associations to enhance market presence.
  • Attend major conferences and special events to build new relationships with agencies, brands and sports and entertainment properties as needed.
  • International outlook and ability to work with diverse cultures.
  • Willingness to travel and work across multiple time zones as needed.
  • Self-motivated with entrepreneurial spirit and attention to detail

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Degree in Business, Management, Sales or Marketing required.
  • 7+ years of high-level partnership industry experience.
  • Proven track record in managing and onboarding long-term, seven figure integrated marketing partnerships.
  • Capacity to work in partnership with the sales team to meet challenging sales objectives in a high profile, competitive marketplace.
  • Creativity to develop strategic and purpose driven solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities with excellent communication skills.
  • Superior computer skills including a high level of macOS, Microsoft Office, CRM platforms, and various creative and web-based software.
