As a Legends brand ambassador, the senior captain orchestrates a memorable guest experience by fostering a warm, pleasant and welcoming environment. They lead by example and act as impeccable hosts to deliver the highest possible level of service that is synonymous with Legends Hospitality standards.

Responsibilities

As a Legends brand ambassador, the senior captain orchestrates a memorable guest experience by fostering a warm, pleasant and welcoming environment.

• Thorough knowledge of food and beverage offerings including ingredients, sources, preparation methods and allergens

  • Manages pace and sequence across all steps of service by ensuring appropriate coursing, firing and clearing through proper communication with FOH/BOH staff
  • Exhibits an excellent service attitude and is willing to go the extra mile to accommodate guests
  • Inspects all aspects of the dining room including table settings, chairs and floors to ensure proper maintenance and safety, takes immediate action to correct any issues
  • Develops relationship with guests, routinely checks in with during service to ensure satisfaction
  • Accurately and efficiently prepares guests checks and accepts payment
  • Ensures side work is completed and dining room supplies are well stocked, reports any supply shortages to FOH management
  • Reviews daily specials, stations and other applicable announcements
  • Trains new hires on restaurant service standards, menu items, and food/beverage pairings
  • Must be flexible and able to adjust to meet the changing needs of the restaurant
  • Maintains a high level of professionalism and communicates effectively
  • Acts as a Legends brand ambassador when communicating with guests
  • Upholds a good self-image and can command the respect of the employees
  • Leads with consideration and patience to achieve desired results through high quality service.

    Qualifications

    • A minimum of three to five (3-5) years’ experience in a similar role
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a captain in a fine dining establishment in NYC preferred
  • Experience using restaurant point-of-sale (POS) systems
  • Ability to make responsible, impromptu decisions in accordance with the steps of service and company standards
  • Strong food and beverage knowledge, ability to properly articulate menu selections
  • Possesses strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Is result-driven, works well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Superb customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Professional, articulate, friendly, and punctual
