THE ROLE    

Legends Global Merchandise is looking for an experienced senior business development professional to lead strategic growth initiatives and drive new business for the Wholesale division of the company. The Senior Vice President, Business Development will own a strong business acumen and maintain high-level connections to key stakeholders and executives throughout the sports and entertainment industry.

This individual will become an expert in Legends’ holistic service solutions, serving as a key stakeholder in accelerating revenue generation with a primary focus on and clearly defined process for the Wholesale merchandise areas, plus a collaborative outlook across all of Legends’ business segments.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The primary function of the SVP Business Development is to serve as the lead for business development strategy and execution from mining opportunities to leading RFP submission process in successfully securing new business.  Additional responsibilities of the role include

  • Apply expertise of the sports and entertainment industry and market trends to identify key prospects, obtain meetings with key decision makers, qualify leads, and build a sustainable pipeline of new business.
  • Ability to leverage existing personal and professional relationships, while initiating and developing new relationships in the industry.
  • Proven leadership and advanced research skills used to uncover new opportunities, identify key internal personnel, and drive new business pursuit strategy forward while maintaining the ultimate needs of Legends ownership, current clients, and leadership across Legends business verticals to ensure efforts coordinate with Company business model and risk profile.
  • Attend and participate in industry outreach and informational events to gain local contacts and identify possible project work for the Company.
  • Provide strategic input and industry insight to obtain short-listing selection for RFP submittals.
  • Track the pursuit process and proposal development schedule through the life of the pursuit to ensure the submission is compliant with requested information and delivered by the deadline.
  • Regularly conduct wide-spread sports and entertainment industry research including but not limited to sports teams and venues, business and technology trends, potential client prospects, and current events.
  • Manage the business development collateral creation for Legends Global Merchandise – Wholesale Division, including: C-level presentations, state-of-the-art proposals, custom ROI analysis, and long-form agreements.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Minimum of 10 years of business development and strategic analysis experience, preferably in the sports and entertainment industry
  • Proven track record of developing and closing new account business and meeting sales objectives
  • Industry credibility allowing for quick access to key constituencies
  • Ability to embrace and digest facts and provide insight
  • Strong verbal and presentation skills; able to tell compelling stories and be a persuasive presenter
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to initiate and develop personal and professional relationships in the industry
  • Proven leadership skills used to identify key internal personnel and drive pursuit efforts forward while maintaining the ultimate needs of Legends
  • Developed investigation and research skills to uncover new opportunities for Company growth
  • Travel required

 

COMPENSATION

Salary Range: $200,000-$250,000

Competitive salary, commensurate with experience, and a generous benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401k plan.
