JOB DESCRIPTION
Western Manager

CLASSIFICATION Year-round; Full-time
FLSA Exempt
REPORTS TO National Development Director
LOCATION Park City, UT
TRAVEL Limited travel required, as necessary
 
U.S. Ski & Snowboard is seeking a Western Manager.  This is a full-time position eligible for our benefits package, including medical insurance and retirement.  For inquiries or help with your application, please email [email protected].
 
SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE
The Western Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Western and Rocky/Central regions, working with the Alpine Development Director and the regional staff members to deliver U.S. Ski & Snowboard programs, policies, and services to members in an organized, effective, and timely manner.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
ATHLETE EXPERIENCE
  • Support the Alpine Development Director and the regional directors in the planning and implementation of the national and regional calendars
  • Manage regional race registrations, notifications, and entries
  • Manage foreign race registrations, notifications, and entries
  • Administer development projects and competition trips as outlined in the yearly training and competition plan
  • Support national development initiatives, training and competition projects
 
OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE
  • Develop and communicate information regularly to members and clubs via email lists, newsletters, the U.S. Ski & Snowboard website, social media, and the Alpine Competition Guide and the regional handbook
  • Liaise with leadership of the Western Region ACC and Rocky/Central Region ACC to coordinate meetings and regular conference calls, including the timely distribution of agendas, action item proposals, and minutes
  • Respond to telephone and email inquiries in a timely fashion
 
FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE
  • Manage all Western and Rocky/Central regional accounts
  • Reconcile projects in a timely manner and manage regional accounts regularly 
  • Assist the Alpine Development Direcor and the regional directors in the preparation of annual budgets
  • Collect and account for revenue including head tax and project fees
  • Control and account for payables

COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE
  • College degree required
  • U.S. Ski & Snowboard Coach or Official’s certification preferred
  • Working knowledge of the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Alpine program
  • History of success in the completion of tasks and projects
  • Ability to work in a team environment and with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong work ethic and organizational skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer skills in email, word processing, spreadsheet applications
