Position Summary
The USA Triathlon Internship Program is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the largest multisport organization in the world and the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic National Governing Body (NGB) for the sport of triathlon and other multisport disciplines. Internships at USA Triathlon present unique opportunities to explore new experiences with technology, people, and specific projects that will help guide the trajectory of your chosen career. Our internships are unpaid but specifically designed to provide a rich educational environment for students studying and/or those seeking a career in recreation, athletics, sports management, communication, event planning, or relationship management. 

Essential Job Functions
  • Coordinate a variety of communication and media systems and channels within the department of hire to enhance the community of triathletes, coaches, and clubs and further the sport.
  • Contribute to a variety of departmental and organizational projects and event planning to support triathletes and the triathlete community.
  • Input data into applicable databases and technological systems; ensure accuracy of work and troubleshoot errors as needed essential to the management of the sport.
  • Assist management in receiving and sending packages, inventory, and other resources; organizes paper and electronic files and inventory essential to supporting athletes and the management of events.
  • Provide support with other duties as necessary and learn about the development of triathletes for world events.
  • Assist core team with new and existing program recruitment.
  • Liaise with current USAT coaches on match needs where demand dictates.
  • Support the Collegiate Club Triathlon Coaches Association and Collegiate Club Commissioner Committee where needed.
  • Assist core team with preparation for aspects of Collegiate Club National Championships

Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled in, or recently graduated from, an educational program in recreation, athletics, sports management, communication, event planning, relationship management, or a related field.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Self-motivated and goal driven; willingness to take on diverse roles and responsibilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of the organization
  • Excellent time-management skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and proficient in technological systems
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. 

Anticipated Duration: September 2024 - August 2025

This is an unpaid position. Interns have no guarantee of any paid position at the end of the internship
