USA Wrestling is seeking a Social Media Coordinator to take a leadership role in creating and managing USA Wrestling’s social media portfolio. The person in this position will produce relevant, creative, and engaging content that will spotlight and serve USA Wrestling members, athletes, coaches, events, corporate partners and other various stakeholders. This is a full-time position in person in our Colorado Springs office.
 
Objectives and Responsibilities:
 
  • Serve as primary coordinator of USA Wrestling’s current social media portfolio which includes Facebook, Instagram, Threads, X, TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn. 
  • Develop and maintain internal social media calendar, manage cross-departmental social media requests, and keep regular posting cadence per social media platform.
  • Assist in development and implementation of long-term social media strategy for the organization. This includes staying informed on social media best practices and current trends. 
  • Spearhead social media plan and digital content creation at assigned USA Wrestling regional and national events. Relevant tasks may include live social media updates, capturing match highlights, champion interviews, promotional shoots with athletes and behind-the-scenes clips for use on USA Wrestling digital platforms. 
  • Provide support for USA Wrestling’s digital marketing campaigns through the creation and posting of social media assets, and best practice recommendations. Campaign focus areas may include membership, event registration, corporate partnerships and ticket sales.
  • Coordinate with media partners, affiliated clubs, state associations, corporate sponsors, athletes, coaches, and community influencers on social media-related projects and grow USA Wrestling’s digital footprint through these partnerships. 
  • Develop and maintain bullpen of freelance social media/content contractors to assist with USA Wrestling social media projects as needed.
  • Consistently track key performance metrics of social media projects and report to internal stakeholders. 
  • Continued development of professional skillset and explore new creative techniques to elevate the USA Wrestling brand through social media.
  •  Handle other duties as determined by the Director of Communications or the Executive Director. 

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (Journalism, Communications, Broadcasting, Marketing, Public Relations, Advertising, Digital Media, etc.)
  • At least one-year relevant professional experience with a focus on content creation and social media management.
  • A working knowledge of and experience with the Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom and Premiere Pro.
  • Experience with various social media and content creation tools such as Hootsuite, Buffer, HubSpot, Bitly, Canva, Envato Elements and Linktree.
  • The ability to write effective, short form copy for various types of social media posts. 
  • Hands-on experience operating digital camera equipment (cameras, microphones, lighting, etc.), being comfortable and confident conducting photo and video shoots across a variety of environments throughout the wrestling community. Must be able to communicate effectively and work together with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders and be an upstanding representative of USA Wrestling in the community. 
 
Travel Expectations
Domestic and international travel including weekends and holidays is required.
 
Salary Range
Compensation commensurate with experience.
$55,000-$65,000 per year

The USA Wrestling Office is located in Colorado Springs, CO - ability to work from the office is required.
