SUMMARY 
Las Vegas Lacrosse was launched on June 21, 2021, as the 15th team in the National Lacrosse League (NLL) beginning play in December 2022. The team is co-owned by Wayne Gretzky, Dustin Johnson, Steve Nash and Joe Tsai. The team plays at Lee’s Family Forum in Henderson. 
 
The Accounting Manager will work alongside the VP of Finance and will manage the team’s accounting records, payroll, and assist in financial analysis.  The ideal candidate will have great interpersonal skills, a willingness to jump into any task, and interest and/or experience in Accounting & Finance in sports.  
 
JOB DESCRIPTION - WHAT YOU WILL DO: 
  • Manage and communicate cash flow related issues, including accurate and timely preparation of monthly financial statements: cash flow statements, management of receivables, payables, cash balances, control mechanisms and timely deposits of all funds
  • Create annual budget and monthly variance analysis; investigate and critique variances to budget or to prior year and offer practical improvement methodologies 
  • Provide analytical input and support to all major strategic evaluations and pursuits
  • Reconcile back accounts, balance sheet analysis and maintain accounts receivable
  • Reviews and executes all checks and deposits, reviews daily cash receipts and disbursements
  • Collaborate with ticket sales, corporate partnerships, and merchandise departments on data analytics in relation to sales and pricing strategies to achieve revenue goals 
  • Accurately enter all approved vendor invoices into QuickBooks paying attention to details such as vendor name, invoice date, due date, amount, GL code and description.
  • Assist with processing payments to vendors.
  • Ensure all vendor invoices are approved by proper department head.
  • Request and review W-9 forms from new vendors.
  • Review and download credit card activity.
  • Upload credit card activity to QuickBooks.
  • Responsibilities include account analysis, journal entries, account reconciliations, and support for the VP, Finance.  
  •  Assist with completion of monthly closes and the preparation of monthly/quarterly Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss statements.
  • Provide financial support and monthly analysis to various corporate departments.
  • Support accounting day-to-day activities and complete special projects in an accurate and timely manner, as assigned.
  •  Provide other accounting support as needed.

CANDIDATE PROFILE – WHO YOU ARE:
  •  Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Related work experience of 2+ years
  • CPA License or Masters in Accounting preferred but not required
  • Highly detail oriented.
  • Must possess good organizational and analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  •  A team player with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required; experience with QuickBooks Online and bill pay platforms a plus
  • Accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment with ability to multi-task and collaborate
 
Travel Requirements 
May be required to travel on some occasions (<1% travel); trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay for one or more nights.
 
 Work Environment
Works primarily in an office environment but will be expected to attend home games and other events on evenings, weekends, and holidays.
