POSITION SUMMARY

Columbus Crew is seeking a Soccer Operations Intern. This individual will help assist in the day-to-day operations and administration for the First Team, Second Team and Academy. This position will require an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about getting experience on the soccer operations side of the sport. In this role, there will be crossover into first team operations, first team player care, second team and academy operations.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the administration of team needs and requirements
  • Assist in preparation for preseason and in-season travel including flights, hotel accommodations, ground transportation and field acquisition
  • Assist with away team requests in home market including training locations and times, water, medical materials and facilitation of ticket requests
  • Organize and help facilitate weekly player appearances with other departments within the company
  • Assist in the day-to-day requirements of our player needs, including friends and family support, player relocation and player care
  • Assist in first team home game day team operations needs
  • Support second team and academy operational functions as required – including administration, game day, event and homestay programming
  • Other duties as directed and required

 

EXPERIENCE

  • Currently attending or recently graduated from an accredited university
  • Degree in Sports Management/Business, Social Work, or Hospitality preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, particularly tasks that are time sensitive
  • Excellent time management skills, dependability, professionalism, and attention to details
  • Strong work ethic and a desire to build a career in professional sports
  • Familiarity with the professional soccer landscape
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with others
  • Candidates who are bilingual will take priority
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office; PowerPoint, Word, Excel
  • Ability to keep a strong and positive attitude that reflects the spirit of the club
  • This role is outward facing, and it is imperative the individual projects positive goodwill
  • This role requires a high level of trust and managing delicate and sensitive information
