JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Matchday Presentation will primarily be responsible for leading the strategic vision of the in-stadium experience for D.C. United and Power FC matches and other events at Audi Field. This position will work with the Senior Director of Events and Entertainment, to create and execute engaging and exciting matchday experiences while ensuring brand standards and meaningful partner integrations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee the creation and production of the presentation of all D.C. United and Power FC home matches and major events at Audi Field
  • Work closely with the Senior Director of Events and Entertainment to develop a new, cohesive look and feel for D.C. United and Power FC Matches annually.
  • Lead the organization and implementation of entertainment elements to enhance the fan experience at all home matches.
  • Coordinate with all D.C. United, Power FC and Audi Field departments on all game day elements, including inventory, creation, planning and execution of event elements.
  • Act as the primary contact for all to book game presentation assets.
  • Oversee the creation of key documents for each game and some events, including but not limited to PA scripts, game formats, and timing sheets in conjunction with MediaWorks
  • Help develop (in conjunction with Marketing, Operations, Partnerships and MediaWorks) and manage a comprehensive matchday production plan, encompassing all elements of in-stadium entertainment, fan engagement, audio, and video content.
  • Coordinate matchday, D.C. United and Power FC event content, including run-of-show and scriptwriting for all departments matchday and event content.
  • Collaborate closely with the Marketing & Community Relations Team to organize in season strategy, design/look, and theme for all in-match content and elements.
  • Work effectively with internal departments to promote internal initiatives in-stadium.
  • Collaborate with in-stadium production team, including video producers, content creators, and live event staff, ensuring a cohesive and engaging fan experience.
  • Book all matchday entertainment, including National Anthem performers, live music performances, DJs, and other entertainment elements.
  • Make recommendations to enhance matchday experiences based on fan feedback and survey results.
  • Ensure compliance with all MLS rules and regulations for match presentation and operations.
  • Execute comprehensive production plans in collaboration with the matchday operations team, coordinating with third-party vendors, managing technical logistics, and ensuring proper equipment maintenance.
  • Lead and produce D.C. United and Power FC external live event programming – i.e. Season Ticket Member Events, fan fests, watch parties, playoff events, etc.
  • Manage vendor relationships related to matchday presentation and entertainment, including invoicing and budget.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and new technologies that can enhance the fan experience and develop new ideas and concepts for matchday presentations.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
  • Minimum five to ten years sports production or live event experience with at least three years of prior management experience. MLS and/ or USL Match Presentation Experience preferred
  • Keen attention to detail and excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects with competing deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with other departments and stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Understanding of live event production, including sounds and lighting design, video production, fan behavior and live entertainment.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate all home games and events.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to meet firm deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn and thrive in a fast-paced, performance driven environment and be highly adaptable.
  • Ability to work autonomously and use excellent judgement.
  • Positive, upbeat attitude, that can lead and connect with a diverse population
  • You must provide proof of COVID-19 Vaccination prior to start date.

COMPETENCIES (KSAs)
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant software.
  • Knowledge of CRM software is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Ability to work long hours on event and game days.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to stand in an upright position for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work with exposure to bright lights, loud noises and extreme temperatures
Must be able to lift and carry items up to 75lbs.

SCHEDULE
  • 9:30am- 6:30pm EST
  • flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the season schedule.

Base pay is one part of the total compensation package and is determined within a range. The good faith anticipated base pay range for this role is shown below, and actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experiences, location, and other business and organizational needs.

Anticipated pay: $75,000 - $85,000
