Hometown Soccer Holdings (HSH) is building a portfolio of locally rooted MLS NEXT Pro clubs, each deeply embedded in its community and built to create lasting connections with fans. As HSH grows its footprint across the country, the organization is investing in the centralized communications infrastructure needed to shape its narrative, protect its reputation, and amplify the stories that define each club's place in its community. The Director, Public Relations will serve as the enterprise communications leader responsible for building the strategies, standards, and systems that ensure HSH and its clubs show up with a consistent, compelling, and credible voice across every market.
Reporting to the VP, Marketing, this leader will own corporate and executive communications, lead media relations efforts at the enterprise level, and develop the crisis communications frameworks and club launch playbooks that local teams rely on when it matters most. The Director will serve as both a strategic counselor and a hands-on practitioner, working closely with club GMs, marketing managers, and senior leadership to ensure HSH's communications are proactive, on-message, and built to earn trust with media, fans, and the communities HSH calls home.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in corporate and media relations, a steady hand in high-stakes communications situations, and a genuine passion for soccer and sports.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and own the enterprise corporate communications strategy, including messaging frameworks, narrative platforms, and communications standards for HSH and its club portfolio.
- Lead media relations efforts at the corporate level, building and maintaining relationships with national and local sports, business, and community press.
- Craft and manage executive communications, including prepared remarks, op-eds, interviews, and thought leadership content for HSH senior leadership.
- Build and maintain crisis communications protocols, providing strategic counsel and real-time support to club and central office teams when reputational issues arise.
- Develop club launch communications playbooks and lead earned media strategy for new market entries and major organizational announcements.
- Manage relationships with PR agencies and external communications partners, ensuring alignment on strategy, quality of output, and efficient use of resources.
- Partner with the VP, Marketing and cross-functional teams to ensure communications efforts are integrated with broader marketing, sponsorship, and community initiatives.
- Build scalable processes, operational frameworks, and best practices that support local club communications teams and enable consistent execution across markets.

You Have These:
- 8+ years of progressive experience in public relations, corporate communications, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing teams or agencies.
- Strong expertise in corporate communications, media relations, and executive messaging across both traditional and digital media channels.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing crisis communications strategies in fast-moving, high-visibility environments.
- Proven ability to build and manage agency relationships, including scope management, performance accountability, and budget oversight.
- Exceptional written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to adapt voice and tone across a range of formats and audiences.
- Experience supporting organizational launches, market expansions, or major brand moments strongly preferred.
- Experience in sports, entertainment, or consumer brand environments strongly preferred.
