NJ/NY Gotham FC (“Gotham FC” or “the Club”) is a National Women’s Soccer League (“NWSL”) team representing New Jersey and New York. The team plays at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, NJ.

The Role:
Gotham FC is seeking an experienced Strength & Conditioning and Return to Play Coach to provide gym-based strength and conditioning programs, program and deliver on-field return to play programs and deliver non-roster and return to play sessions. 

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead on the management, planning, and execution of the day-to-day gym-based strength and conditioning programs.
  • Create bespoke individualized strength and conditioning programs to meet the needs of the team and players.
  • Monitor changes in player strength and power development to show player progress and areas for improvement.
  • Work in collaboration with the clubs High Performance Director and Sport Scientist to develop a thorough testing battery to monitor player strength and power performance.
2. Lead and coordinate the programming and delivery of on-field return to play programs whilst assisting and supporting the return to play process.  
  • Plan and deliver position and injury specific on-field programs to facilitate the transition to return to training and return to play.
  • Oversee and monitor the maintenance of player strength and fitness throughout the rehab process to optimize the player's return to play and training
  • Working in collaboration with the high performance, medical and technical team to produce and deliver highly detailed and efficient return to play programs.
3. General functions
  • Deliver non-roster and return to play sessions at the facility during away trips as designated by the High-Performance Director.
  • Travel with the team to away games as designated by the High-Performance Director.
  • Design and monitor off season programming in conjunction with the HPM team.
  • Stay abreast of the latest research in Strength and Conditioning and Return to Play and participate in continued education.
  • Specific focus around the strength and conditioning and on field technical return to play in collaboration with the technical staff.
4. Other Tasks and Duties.
  • Participate in promotional, sponsorship, and public relations activities requested by the Club upon reasonable prior notice, including, but not limited to, ticket, game, team and stadium promotions, clinics, speeches, interviews, photo sessions, public appearances, sponsor activities and participating in media programs as directed by the club.
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned by the Owner, General Manager and High-Performance Director.

Required Qualifications:
  • Master’s or equivalent in Sport Science, Kinesiology, Physiology, or a related field 
  • Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) Accreditation or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years’ work in soccer at the professional club or federation level
  • Excellent analytical, communication and collaboration skills
  • Knowledge and experience of performance requirements for adult and youth female athletes

Capability & Other Characteristics:
  • First Aid and CPR certification 
  • Proven history of providing world class feedback, reporting and analysis across various projects
  • Experience working with performance monitoring system (e.g. GPS and force measurement products)
  • Experience working in collaboration with coaches and other support staff in a multidisciplinary high-performance team
  • Proficient on computer with software such as Outlook, Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Power Bi, Access and Video Editing
  • Strong verbal, written, in-person and presentation communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, data collection, planning and leadership skills
  • Bi-Lingual (English and Spanish).
  • Able and willing to travel for away games.
  • Able and willing to work non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends as needed 
  • Current and valid driver's license

Location: 
This position is fully in-person, based at Gotham FC’s soccer operations office and practice facility, currently located in Whippany, New Jersey. The person must be able and willing to attend all Gotham FC home games, away games and other business-related travel. Gotham FC requires its employees to live in its market, that is, within reasonable commuting distance of Gotham FC’s office, practice facility and Red Bull Arena.

Job type:  Full-time Exempt position

Salary range:  $95,000-$120,000 plus benefits
