JOB TITLE:  Head Coach U12, Academy

LOCATION:  City Football Academy; Orangeburg, New York and St. Johns University; Queens New York Academy: Orangeburg, New York
 
POSITION OVERVIEW:
As the U12 Head Coach you will have the overall responsibility in the continued development of the U12. Through the delivery of NYCFC coaching philosophy and managing Individual Development Plans for the players. As the Head Coach you will lead the interdisciplinary team in achieving individual and team goals. It is important that you are willing and able to work together across departments and other age groups. Oversee and lead the development of our U12 team, in collaboration with our other U12 Head coach. You will be responsible for the development program of the team and individuals, working in a multidisciplinary environment. We believe in working multidisciplinary across departments to maximizing the player development. Trainings are 3 times a week but working both Saturday and Sundays + tournament throughout the year.
 
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
  • As Head Coach in the Academy, you are responsible for creating a learning environment, with the balance of challenges and support to each individual player.
  • You are responsible for manage and develop every player into the best player that they can through delivery of the NYCFC philosophy and methodology 
  • You will be Responsible for the delivery and content of all daily training sessions and match preparation together with your staff.
  • To work cooperatively with the other Academy teams and staff and to maintain relationships with appropriate stakeholders; both internal and external. 
  • Responsible for planning, delivering, and reviewing coaching practice according to the NYCFC methodology with an action orientated attitude, striving to continually improve. 
  • You will work from tactical periodization and conducting practice designs to enhance the learning and understanding of NYCFC Style of Play. 
  • To work with the other Head coaches to deliver 1-to-1 player development support through progressive Individual Development Plans with ongoing specific actionable feedback (Mandatory 2 times a year + all the unofficial ones).
  • Understand and adhere to all Competition Guidelines in all entered competitions 
  • Representation of NYCFC in positive manner within all required responsibilities, including SoMe. 
  • Responsible for the continued development and matriculation of Academy players to progress in our system.
  • Utilizing the IT software in the club – SmartaBase and PlayerMaker. 
 
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
  • 5+ experience coaching youth academy level.
  • USSF ‘B or A’ license – minimum (required) 
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work multidisciplinary in the context of Soccer. 
  • Valid driver’s license 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office; PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Know how of Tactical periodization and how to implement it.
  • A growth mindset and willingness to join the team with enthusiasm and curiosity. 
 
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Applicant must be able to comply with MLS Next Safety and Well-Being policy and any other applicable child safety policies provided to applicants by NYCFC
  • Must be able to work games scheduled which may be at night and on weekends and holidays

COMPENSATION:
This exempt position has an estimated annual base salary range of $55,000 to $61,500. Final compensation offer amounts are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to demonstrated skill set, years and depth of relevant experience, and some role-dependent factors such as certifications and software expertise. We welcome direct conversations with each candidate about compensation in all of our initial calls.
