Overview of the United Soccer League (USL)
The United Soccer League (USL) is the heartbeat of American soccer. Impacting more than 200 communities across the United States, the USL is the first and only soccer organization in the United States to build a youth-to-professional pathway for both men and women within one ecosystem. That structure includes three professional leagues: USL Super League (women), USL Championship (men), and USL League One (men); two pre-professional leagues: USL League Two (men) and the USL W League (women); and two youth platforms: USL Academy and USL Youth.

Position Purpose
The Chief Revenue Officer is responsible for overseeing business development, sales growth and supervision of the day-to-day operations of the team including marketing/sales collateral materials and the hiring and supervision of sales staff employees. The primary objectives are to strengthen the team’s brand to drive ticket sales and corporate sponsorship revenues while managing the financial and operational aspects of the team. This individual will work in tandem with ownership and the stadium to execute the business plan. 
 
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Develop business and sales strategies to increase revenue.
  • Expand, prospect and generate new corporate partnerships through interaction in the community.
  • Assure compliance with all league requirements.
  • Plan, develop, and establish objectives and policies for the team in accordance with League directives and business charter.
  • Build a profitable organization through corporate partnerships and ticket opportunities.
  • Interface with departments to assist in the development, implementation and analysis of marketing and sales campaigns.
  • Assist with the development and execution of game day promotions and game presentations.
  • Assist with the development and administration of customer retention programs.
  • Other duties/responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year college or university or equivalent experience/combined education. 
  • 10+ years of experience in a sales or marketing positions in sports.
  • Experience in successfully developing and generating ticket and sponsorship revenues.
  • Proven history of sales success and the ability to build and lead a sales driven and customer focused organization.
  • Experience overseeing financial reports and budgets.
  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen.
  • Proven leadership & management abilities.
  • Strong communication and teambuilding skills.
  • Must have U.S. work authorization.
