The United Soccer League (USL) is the heartbeat of American soccer. Impacting more than 200 communities across the United States, the USL is the first and only soccer organization in the United States to build a youth-to-professional pathway for both men and women within one ecosystem. That structure includes three professional leagues: USL Super League (women), USL Championship (men), and USL League One (men); two pre-professional leagues: USL League Two (men) and the USL W League (women); and two youth platforms: USL Academy and USL Youth.

Position Purpose
The Club Performance Analyst has a pivotal role responsible for providing critical insights and data-driven recommendations that support business decisions. Reporting to the President, Business Ventures, this role is critical in helping administer, create, maintain, and strategically evaluate critical data dashboards; perform ad hoc data analysis; create, maintain and evaluate presentation decks; and leverage data insights to inform decision-making.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
 
  • Analyze revenue data and performance metrics to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for revenue growth. 
  • Provide strategic and independent recommendations regarding the presentation of data for various business initiatives. 
  • Develop efforts to maintain, clean, assist, innovate flows, and grow CRM and CDP databases. 
  • Analyze campaign performance and provide insights to clubs with the purpose of informing future sales and service strategies. 
  • Generate and evaluate regular reports and dashboards to provide strategic insights on partnership sales, ticket sales, pricing effectiveness, and customer segments. 
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of customer behavior, preferences, and purchasing habits to enhance fan engagement / revenue growth strategies. 
  • Provide data-driven recommendations on improving sales processes, customer experiences, and promotional campaigns. 
  • Analyze competitive and industry trends to identify market positioning and growth opportunities. 
  • Monitor and evaluate the success of various partnership / ticketing initiatives and promotions, providing insights for optimization. 
  • Develop and evaluate forecasting models to project partnership/ ticket sales, attendance, and revenue for upcoming games and seasons. 
  • Assist in the design and execution of surveys and research to gather fan feedback and insights. 
  • Evaluate, maintain, and update data analytics tools, databases, and reporting systems. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely reports, data sharing and integration. 
  • Develop innovative dashboards and database automations that can easily tell a complex story and actionable items to club leaders. 
  • Other duties/responsibilities as assigned. 
 
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of work experience in a data analyst role. 
  • Previous experience building dashboards (Tableau) and presentation decks. 
  • Technological aptitude: an ability to troubleshoot and learn complex systems to solve problems and questions. 
  • Team player with a positive attitude, self-confidence, professionalism, resourcefulness, integrity, motivation, and a very strong work ethic. 
  • Ability to tell a simple story from complex data and relate it to revenue generation. 
  • Ability to make independent judgments and decisions regarding the presentation of data to inform business decisions. 
  • Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools. 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with team members, executives, member clubs, and external partners.
  • Ability to work independently in a multi-faceted, fast, fluid, and deadline-driven environment.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic a must.
  • Ability to work as business needs require which may include long days, evenings, weekends, occasional holidays, and travel if / when necessary.  
  • Must have U.S. work authorization. 
 
Work Environment
Based in Tampa, FL, USL Headquarters provides a vibrant and open working environment designed to promote collaboration, the exchange of ideas, and knowledge sharing. We believe in fostering a culture that encourages creativity, communication, and teamwork. 
 
Currently, USL HQ operates on a hybrid work model. From Monday to Thursday, team members gather in person to harness the power of face-to-face collaboration. This not only strengthens the bonds within the team but also enhances communication and innovation. On Fridays, we transition to a remote work setup, providing our team with the flexibility to manage their tasks in an environment of their choosing.
 
Typical USL HQ hours are Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:30pm ET. Evenings, weekends, occasional holidays, and travel may be necessary based on business demands.
