The United Soccer League (USL) is the heartbeat of American soccer. Impacting more than 200 communities across the United States, the USL is the first and only soccer organization in the United States to build a youth-to-professional pathway for both men and women within one ecosystem. That structure includes three professional leagues: USL Super League (women), USL Championship (men), and USL League One (men); two pre-professional leagues: USL League Two (men) and the USL W League (women); and two youth platforms: USL Academy and USL Youth.

Position Purpose
The Onboarding & Club Performance Coordinator will contribute to the achievement of club targets by supporting the onboarding and club performance teams in all activities while maintaining strong relationships with clubs. The project coordinator's responsibilities include monitoring project plans, schedules, fan development strategies, staffing & commercial plans, budgets, and expenditures, organizing and participating in stakeholder meetings, and ensuring that club targets and deadlines are met in a timely manner.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
 
  • Coordinate, monitor, and support the roll-out of new expansion franchises across both USL men’s and women’s professional leagues.  
  • Coordinate, monitor, and support the relationship between the Club Performance Group and current clubs across both USL men’s and women’s professional leagues.
  • Maintain and monitor project plans, project schedules, budgets, and expenditures.
  • Assist in guiding USL expansion clubs through the various onboarding deliverables, requirements, system implementations, and best practices to build their day-to-day business and ensure readiness for initial season start.
  • Organize, attend, and participate in stakeholder meetings.
  • Document and follow up on important actions and decisions from meetings and distribute minutes to all project team members.
  • Maintain and update strategy documents and presentations. 
  • Provide project management and administrative support for new expansion clubs to ensure on-time and successful implementation across all onboarding areas.
  • Support and work with internal League HQ stakeholders to ensure successful collaboration and implementation of expansion club departmental deliverables in key organizational areas i.e., ticketing, sponsorship, merchandising, communications, branding, digital, sporting/technical, stadium infrastructure and operations.
  • Monitor, track and provide reporting to expansion club owners and internal USL staff.
  • Assess project risks and issues and provide solutions where applicable.
  • Ensure projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project.
  • Support club staff and deliver an exceptional customer service experience to franchisees and other staff, members, and prospects.
  • Ensure stakeholder views are managed towards the best solution.
  • Follow and enforce League HQ brand guidelines across all onboarding channels.
  • Ensure adherence to USL regulations, and policies.
  • Other duties/responsibilities as assigned. 

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, sports management, marketing or a related field and at least one (1) year of relevant experience, or equivalent experience/combined education is required for consideration.
  • 1 or more years’ experience in project management and/or coordination.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong computer literacy and competency in Microsoft applications including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Knowledge of file management, transcription, and other administrative procedures.
  • Ability to analyze and report on data, with strong data-visualization skills.
  • Solid knowledge of project management software, CRM and marketing platforms.
  • Good administrative, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Current knowledge of soccer industry trends and regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with team members, executives, member clubs, and external partners.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic a must.
  • Ability to work as business needs require which may include long days, evenings, weekends, occasional holidays, and travel if / when necessary.  
  • Must have U.S. work authorization. 
 
Work Environment

Currently, USL HQ operates on a hybrid work model. From Monday to Thursday, team members gather in person to harness the power of face-to-face collaboration. This not only strengthens the bonds within the team but also enhances communication and innovation. On Fridays, we transition to a remote work setup, providing our team with the flexibility to manage their tasks in an environment of their choosing.
 
Typical USL HQ hours are Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:30pm ET. Evenings, weekends, occasional holidays, and travel may be necessary based on business demands.
