The Opportunity
Exciting opportunity for a dynamic, team-oriented, player-coach to join the SportsBiz team as Chief Sales Officer. 
Company Overview: SportsBiz is optimizing the $100B sports sponsorship ecosystem for corporate brands through our proprietary decision-making and advanced data analytics software platform, DeepSport Solutions. This recurring license technology platform empowers brands to remedy the vast financial inefficiencies impacting the sports marketing industry. Advancing the technologies of automation and artificial intelligence - we are positively disrupting the future of Sports Marketing.

Please note, the entire SportsBiz team is working for both stock options and cash payments in the form of routine stipends. SportsBiz has attracted a reputable group of investors including high net worth individuals, angel investors, and family offices. Full salaries, however, will be paid only upon the company’s completing its fundraising efforts anticipated in Q4/Q1.

The Role
  • Communicating Value Propositions & Closing Deals:  Introduce prospective clients to the company's unique software solutions and generate business via the sale of transactional and recurring licensed software solutions
  • Accountability: Ensure department performance, strategy, and alignment of the company’s sales goals
  • Sales Strategy: Develop and execute strategies to help the organization achieve its sales goals 
  • Sales Team Management: Manage the sales team to drive business growth across all customer segments (brands, sports marketing agencies, properties)
  • Sales Reporting: Monitor and report on the sales revenue pipeline and leads generated, adjusting as necessary for sustainable growth (HubSpot)
  • Communication: Communicate clearly, professionally and transparently with prospective clients, staff, colleagues, and board members
  • Industry Monitoring: Monitor the marketplace (sports industry) and analyze opportunities, providing competitive strategies and tactics
  • Customer Experience / Upsell Opportunities: Remain well-connected with customers to ensure that their needs are being factored into the product development and enhancement cycles; constantly identifying upsell opportunities
  • Budget management: Setting and managing the sales team budget 
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with the finance, product management, and marketing teams on messaging, pricing strategies, and business models for achieving revenue goals. Additionally, the CSO will work directly with a dedicated board member that will oversee sales results.

Required skills and qualifications
  • Fifteen or more years in diverse leadership roles, driving and implementing sales growth
  • Large network of contacts in the sports industry with history of closed deals in the sports sponsorship sector
  • Proven track record of growing sales revenue through consultative sales 
  • Significant experience in general management and P&L supervision
  • Ability to craft and execute a business strategy effectively
  • Experience in making decisions based on business metrics
  • Inspirational leadership style and hands-on approach
  • Strong technical experience with HubSpot and other business productivity tools
  • Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in business administration or related field

Target Compensation
Compensation: $150,000.00 - $225,000.00 per year
